April 29, 1957 - June 18, 2014

Passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2014, at his home in Spokane Valley. Mike was born April 29, 1957 at Deaconess Hospital, to David â??Jimâ? and Kathleen Hess. He attended Adams Elementary, North Pines Junior High, and graduated from University High School in 1975. After graduation he worked in sales and management for Kinney Shoes and several automotive companies. He enlisted in the Navy in 1981. He met his wife, Patty Barger, in 1988 and they were married later that year. He loved all kinds of sports and was always athletic. He was outgoing, made friends easily and was always willing to go out of his way to help others. He is survived by his wife, Patty; father, Jim (Melanie) Hess; mother, Kathleen Hess; sister, Veloye; brother, David; two step-children, Heidi and Rick; two nieces; two nephews; and one grand-nephew. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM, at Community Cremation and Funeral Spokane Valley.
