August 28, 1942 - August 23, 2016
Jim passed away on August 23, 2016 in Spokane, WA. Jim was born August 28, 1942 to Cecil and Irene Wellwood. After Cecil's passing, Irene married Ralph Belieu who raised Jimmy as his own. Jimmy graduated from Rogers High School in 1960 and in 1964 married the love of his life and best friend Toni Gosswiller and later that year their daughter Michell was born. Jim moved his family to the Seattle area and went to work for Boeing. Jim worked for Boeing for 38 years as their Traffic Specialist and traveled all over the world making many life-long friends. After his retirement in 2000, Toni and Jimmy moved to Westport, Washington and later on to Ajo, Arizona returning to Spokane in 2007. Jim was a master craftsman and could make anything out of wood. He loved to help others less fortunate and volunteered at Center Pointe until they closed. He was a hard worker all his life, always keeping busy. Jimmy and Johnny spent many hours together in Johnny's shop, working on cars and just being good friends. Jim would help anyone in need but the most important thing to Jimmy was his family which he loved dearly. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Toni at their home; beloved daughter Michell and her wife Stacie Wellwood of Everett, WA; twin sisters Sharon Anderson, Spokane; Karen (Ron) Saccomanno, Spokane; brother Joe Belieu of Reno, NV; brother-in-law Mike Gosswiller (Lynn) of Lake Tapps, WA; sister-in-law Deanna (Dale) Byrer of Libby, Mt; and his best friend Johnny Amicarella along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Irene Belieu; Mother and father-in-law Ethel and Jack Gosswiller and sister-in-law Carol Gosswiller. Although we are heartbroken, Jimmy is now reunited in heaven with his family that has gone on before him. Rest in peace Jimmy until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to SCRAPS as Jimmy loved all animals but especially dogs and they loved him back. Special thanks to Hospice of Spokane for their loving and compassionate care of Jimmy and our family. Per Jim's request there will be no service. A Celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date.
