Entered into rest January 31, 2014 in Spokane, WA. Jim was born May 14, 1933 in Lewiston, Idaho. He married Jill in 1954 in England, while serving in the United States Air Force. Upon their return to the States, Jim attended Gonzaga University and continued his career as an air traffic controller for Spokane International Airport for 33 years. Jim loved to hunt, fish, tie flies, reload his own ammo, collect shells and plant trees. Hi became a self-taught clock and watch repairman. He loved to read anything that could project him farther, especially if it was technical based. Jim is survived by his wife, Jill; four children, Peter, David, Douglas and Jean; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom of Yuma, Arizona. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mary Pavel Gilbertz. He will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 21, 2014, at 2:00 PM, at Community Cremation and Funeral Spokane Valley.
