James Andrew Rosenthal, 1936-2024

James Andrew Rosenthal

Jim passed away March 2, 2024 at the age of 87. He was born July 28, 1936 in Hulbert, Oklahoma to William and Beatrice Rosenthal, they moved from Oklahoma to Spokane in 1947. Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father and brother Allen and sister Hazel.


He joined the Navy in 1954 stationed in San Diego and was on the U.S.S. Pine Island for his tour of duty. Jim had a career in the woodworking industry, and designed and sold a wood lug loader machine.


He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Helene, and his three children Kathleen A. Rangel (partner Ray) of Nyssa, Oregon, Tina L. Holloway of Spokane, and James W. Rosenthal (spouse Tanyia) of Stevensville, Montana, stepdaughter Rona Leap (spouse Andrew) and stepson Jason Howell, his brother Iredelle (Bud) Rosenthal of Spokane, and numerous nieces and nephews. He has 6 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.



He loved fishing and hunting and was fortunate to have owned a bass boat that he and Helene enjoyed many hours of fishing in and could always make you a bet that he could catch the first or biggest one.
