Jacob Taylor Alm was born in July 1995 in Clarksville, TN and died in July 2025 at the age of 30.

He was adopted by Carolyn and Brian Alm in Oct 1995 when he was three months old. They lived in Lubbock, Tx until the family moved to Spokane in 1990.

Jacob attended Franklin Elementary, Chase Middle School, and graduated from Ferris High School in 2014.

Following graduation Jake entered the U.S. Army. He was stationed at Fort Stewart, GA and was deployed overseas. He returned to Spokane when his enlistment was complete.

Jake attended the Horizon Institute of Technology and received his certification for Computer Administration just prior to the Covid pandemic in 2020.

He then began working at Lakeland Village in Medical Lake as a care giver during the pandemic in 2020, and continued working there until his death.

Jake had many interests while growing up including:

· Being a thespian. He participated in the Missoula Children’s Theatre, Spokane Children’s theatre, and a production through drama class during high school.

· Jake tried several instruments including the piano and violin, but enjoyed playing the drums the most.

· He was a Boy Scout, and he enjoyed camping.

· And he enjoyed bowling, both during childhood and as an adult.

· And …he loved riding motorcycles.

A few years ago Jake found a brotherhood in his motorcycle clubs. He rode with the Rough Riders for a while, and most recently the Legion of Doom. He loved to ride and loved the men and women he rode with.

Jake and his fiancée Randi Ross were together for two years. He, Randi and Randi’s daughter Luna were happy together.

On July 27th Jacob died in a motorcycle accident outside St. Mary’s, ID during a group ride with his motorcycle club, the Legion of Doom. It was and continues to be a tragic and heartbreaking event. His fellow riders lovingly placed a memorial cross at the accident site. His mother Carolyn is touched and grateful for this kindness.

After Jake’s death Carolyn discovered the many friendships he made through Facebook postings of pictures, videos and the written word. She says she felt privileged to see another side of her son, one that brings her joy.

There are no words to express how grateful Carolyn is for friends, family, and neighbors that have supported Randi and herself through this heartbreaking time. She is deeply grateful to all of you.

Jacob is survived and missed by his mother Carolyn Alm, his fiancée Randi Ross and her daughter Luna, his grandmothers Jan Neil and Delores Lanky, his aunts and uncles Brad and Debbie Alm, Barry Lanky and Cathy Lanky, cousins and many friends.

Jake had a big heart. He loved deeply and was protective of those he loved. His walk in this world touched many lives. He will live in our hearts forever.

Thank you for the chance to know a bit about your beloved Jacob. It is a beautiful tribute to Jacob and those who loved him that he’s remembered so lovingly here. Many, many blessings to all who knew him best as you all adjust to the hole left by Jacob’s passing. Big love, Joan Burger

Carolyn, as you know, I’ve only been in Spokane for a year. But I spent time with you for a while and met Jacob twice along with his beautiful fiancé. I found him to be a handsome and gracious young man. I wish I had known him better, but his manners and decency to me, allowed me to see that he was a wonderful man. Carolyn, I know you feel blessed to have been his mother. From what I saw… Jacob really loved his Mom too.
