Jack Harry Secord

June 23, 1929 - December 26, 2012

SECORD, Jack Harry Passed away December 26, 2012 in Spokane Wash-ington. The second of five boys, he was born June 23, 1929 in Whitefish Montana to Pearl and Albert Napoleon Secord. He married Noni Atchison in 1955. Jack grew up in Columbia Falls Montana. At age twenty he entered the service. He served in the United States Army from 1949 to 1953 during which time he served in the Korean Conflict. Jack's career as an ironworker took him to many places. Always known for his strong work ethic, he worked on the missile bases in North Dakota, bridges and buildings in Minnesota, dams in Oregon, and bridges in Montana too name a few. He retired from Central PreMix in 1994. Jack took great pride in the fact that he had never missed a day's work. Jack spent the last thirty five years in Elk, Washington. He loved gardening. His garden was huge and always free of weeds just as his dad had taught him. His yard was impeccable with many roses and always the Petunia Tree that he had fabricated from iron. He loved the hummingbirds. They always knew that they would be well fed at the Secord's. Jack's iron yard birds and lady bugs are an addition to many yards throughout the area. He will be remembered for his practical jokes and sense of humor. He loved to dance and most of all, loved a good home cooked meal. He was a Mason. Jack is survived by three brothers Bill (Barbara), Elk, WA, Leonard (Gladys), Columbia Falls, MT and Gary (Sharon) Post Falls ID; stepdaughter Gini Gill; two granddaughters Lisa and Dawn; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Noni, bother Albert J. Secord and his parents Albert Napoleon and Pearl Secord. Interment will be in Elk Cemetery. There will be no services at Jack's request. Bill and Barbara would like to thank Beneficial In-Home care for their continued patience and support that allowed Jack to remain in his own home. Also to the physicians and staff at Holy Family Hospital and Avalon Care Center: Thank you for your kind and loving care of Jack in his final days of life and the loving support given to his family
