Ivan "Frank" Francis Collier

December 18, 1927 - April 11, 2020

Ivan Francis “Frank” Collier was born on December 18, 1927 to Roy Collier and Agnes Baltzar in Pendleton, OR. He passed away the afternoon of April 11, 2020 at his home in Springdale, WA. On March 28, 1953 Frank married the love of his life, Donna Monson, at her father’s home in Asotin, WA. Soon after they moved to Elk Creek, CA, and shortly thereafter moved to Orofino, ID, where Frank started work at Johnson’s Mill. Frank and Donna welcomed two children during their stay in Idaho; Delores and Greg. In 1956 Frank started studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses. In 1957 the family moved to Livingston, where he started work at a local sawmill, and also resumed his studies with Jehovah’s Witnesses. On May 5, 1958, Frank was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Springdale, MT. Frank and Donna welcomed three more children (Gerald, Michael, and Shelley) before being asked to move to Deer Lodge, MT to help the congregation. He also started work as a logger. In 1974, the family moved again, this time settling in Superior, MT, where Frank and his sons worked in the timber industry. In 1989 he moved to Beatty, NV where he drove trucks at the gold mine. He continued to work there until he moved to Great Falls, MT in 1991 to retire; moving one last time in 2017 to Springdale, WA. Frank was an avid “rock hound” who also loved panning for gold, playing the harmonica, watching the Chicago Cubs from his easy chair, and reciting poetry, especially “The Cremation of Sam McGee.” He loved to cook meals at conventions and Kingdom Hall builds, and in his later years you could find him helping direct the nursing mothers station at conventions. He loved helping the brothers and sisters in the congregation gain a better understanding of Jehovah’s Organization. His true passion was talking to people about Jehovah and his promises found in the Bible. He is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Agnes, brothers Delbert and Clinton, and sisters Wilda and Maryann, and grandson Wesley. He is survived by his wife Donna, his brother Don, his daughters Delores Collier and Shelley (Mike) Webster, sons Greg (Barb), Gerald (Kim), Mike (Toni), 10 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
