Greg Lawrence Johnson

Updated: Jan 25

March 14, 1971 - September 24, 2023

Greg “Lumpy” Lawrence Johnson On the morning of September 24th, 2023, our father, son, brother, uncle and friend sadly and unexpectedly passed away at Sacred Heart Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born in Spokane, WA on March 14, 1971, the first born child of his mother Susie and father Randy. His sister Kay joined the family three years later and they became best friends for life. As a prolific guest of Spokane’s active social scene, there’s a good chance Greg was the life of any party. Being a devoted fan of the WSU Cougs, the Seattle Seahawks, Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Seattle Mariners, he loved to rally in support of these teams with his lifelong friends. If you couldn’t find him at the local watering hole, you’d be sure to find him carving up the slopes here in the PNW. As an avid skier, he was sure to impress those who hadn’t skied with him before. His loyalty and love for sharing a laugh with his friends and family meant that you could always count on him to attend a concert, sporting event or to simply share a cold one out at the lake. He was known to somehow make complaining a form of entertainment, and if faced with a setback or injury, he would always bounce right back and continue living life to the fullest. Greg was preceded in death by his aunt Marilyn and his nephew Hayden. He is survived by his children; Josh, Jake, Kylan, Kalei, the mother of his children; Monica, younger sister Kay, along with her children Hailie, Kace, and Jaxsen, his mother Susie, father Randy, and the family who supported his journey into parenthood; Gary, Jim, Sue and Marilyn. For information regarding the Celebration of Life, and to send condolences, find the Facebook group “Remembering Greg Johnson” (https://www.facebook.com/grou…). (PS For those of you invested in Coors Light stock, heed this warning: there will be points lost in the near future). Greg will be profoundly missed by everyone he knew.
