August 05, 1951 - December 14, 2022
Gloria Janine (Honegger) Scott of Spokane, Washington passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on December 14, 2022, following a long battle with dementia. Gloria was born in Spokane on August 5, 1951, to Kenneth and Margaret (Reinholt) Honegger. She and her three older siblings were raised in East Spokane where she enjoyed a childhood filled with a large extended family including many cousins. She graduated from Ferris High School in 1970. After a couple of years exploring California, Gloria returned to Spokane where she met and married Casey C. Scott. They had one son, Jesse. Following the end of the marriage, Gloria returned to her mother’s home where she and Jesse would live for many years. Gloria worked various jobs throughout the years and especially enjoyed her years working in the kitchen at a local hospital. An accomplished seamstress, Gloria made fabric wallets and other fabric crafts which she sold at local stores and craft fairs in the area. Gloria strived her entire life to better herself and be the person she believed God wanted her to be. She loved to attend church to hear God’s word and enjoy the fellowship of a church family. She especially enjoyed singing at church, lending her lovely voice to hymns and songs. As the years passed, Gloria and her mother became an adventurous duo. Always together, they loved to travel and go most anyplace. There was a saying that if the wheels were turning, Gloria and Margaret were in the car. Gloria is survived by her son, Jesse R. Scott; two sisters, Deanna and Linda; her brother Larry Honegger of Spokane; her aunt Joyce Reinholt; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Margaret Honegger. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
