September 03, 1952 - January 04, 2015
WALLIS, Glenn Charles (age 62) Glenn passed away peacefully in the company of his family on January 4, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on September 3rd 1952 to Gerda (Schutte) and Delbert Wallis. In his early years, Glenn especially enjoyed science and technology. As a student lecturer at the Herrett Hall of Science presently housed at the College of Southern Idaho, he taught visitors about early indigenous peoples of Northern, Central and Southern America. He moved with his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1968, where he graduated from Cortez High School in 1970. After high school, Glenn settled into a career as a printed circuit designer, which culminated in launching his own business in the last 10 years. Glenn inherited a love of classic cars from his father and spent many afternoons working on cars, especially old Volkswagens. He even repaired engines on the kitchen table in his early single years! He loved early alternative rock music and played it as a soundtrack to his projects. His other great love was the outdoors and scouting, and he was never happier than camping out with his boys and their troops on Boy Scout camping trips. Glenn especially loved his family, and he met and married the love of his life Nita (Nichols) Wallis, in 1988. The family moved from Phoenix to Spokane, WA in 2006, where he continued his career as a printed circuit designer. He is survived by wife, Nita; his children, Michael, Ben, Sarah and Lauren; his mother, Gerda (Schutte) Wallis of Coeur d'Alene; sisters, Shirley Brim of San Francisco, Marian Booker of Conroe, Texas, Jan Jesberger of Hayden, Idaho; brothers-in-law, Randy Nichols of Moses Lake, Washington, Jerry Nichols of Golden, Colorado, and Bob Nichols of Doha, Qatar, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
