Gladys I Tellessen

April 17, 1927 - May 14, 2015

TELLESSEN, Gladys I. (age 88) Gladys (Engman) Tellessen went to be with her Lord on May 14, 2015. Gladys was born April 19, 1927 in Harlem, Montana to Eric Alfred Engman (originally from Akernas, Sweden) and Maria Mae Bennett. Gladys and her siblings, Dorothy (the oldest at 15), Betty, Eric, Olaf and Emil were separated early in their lives after the death of both of their parents. They were reunited much later when they were all grown and had families of their own. She married Allen Tellessen in 1945 and had four children, Marie; Charlie; Gary and David. They were later divorced. Gladys was employed for many years in Corporate Services at Seattle First Bank and worked as a cashier at Lowe's in the Spokane Valley until shortly before her death. Gladys was very active in the Spokane Chapter of the Swedish American Vasa Lodge and the Sons of Norway. She loved life and had many caring friends. Gladys is survived by sons Gary (Donna) Tellessen of Spangle; Dave (Kathy) Tellessen of Otis Orchards and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Charlie, daughter Marie, sisters Dorothy and Betty, and brothers Eric, Olaf and Emil. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 27th at 12PM at the Country Homes Christian Church 8415 N. Wall, Spokane, WA. Community Cremation & Funeral Spokane Valley - 13127 E.
