Butch Johnson went to be with Lord on December 2, 2016. He was born in Gary, Indiana November 16, 1949. He graduated in Anchorage, Alaska. After graduation he continued to travel and he joined the Army and served between 1969 and 1971. After the service he eventually moved to Washington and started to work for Boeing. He later worked for the maintenance department for 25 years with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He enjoyed traveling all over and loved working with the railroad. Butch had to retire early from the railroad because of medical problems. After retirement he pursued the Lord and helped minister to young men in half way houses and Celebrate Recovery program. Butch loved people in general and had a compassionate gentle spirit. He just wanted everyone to know the Lord. Butch had many interests that includes singing, listening to music and the love of dance. He also loved to play basketball. Most of all was his love of the Lord! He also loved his family that included 17 grandchildren. Butch was preceded in death by father Eural Johnson Sr., and stepbrother Lester Muhammad. He is survived by wife Dorothy, parents Lester and Anna Blair, siblings Donny Johnson, Connie Rock, Clarelia Threadgill, and Sheila Johnson, children; Antoinette Willis-Johnson, Michael Johnson, Eboni Hinkson, Eric Johnson, and Tamera Garcia and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His Graveside Military Service will take place January 13, 2017 at 2:30pm at Greenwood Memorial Park, 211 North Government Way and his Celebration of Life will be January 14, 2017 at Orchard Christian Fellowship on 312 E. 3rd at 4:00 pm with reception to follow.
