Eugene Stanley Field (Age 84) was born January 10, 1933 In Molson, WA. He passed away August 26 in Spokane. Eugene served in the Army during the Korean War. Following his years of service, he returned to Valley, WA where he started his family after purchasing his dairy farm on Long Prairie Road. He was active in many local organizations and community service groups including Valley Grange, Valley Fair, Valley Methodist Church, 4-H, Board of Directors of Darigold, Elks, Eagles, Moose Lodge, Salvation Army, Union Gospel Mission, and many more. He was passionate about snow skiing, Special Olympics, taking church youth groups roller skating to Pattisons North, ball room dancing, United Methodist Church, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Gene is survived by the love of his life Barbara Ritchey, his eight children, five extended children, 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. His children: Sherry Shelley, Holly, Heidi, Nick, Nancy, Brenda, Bobby, and extended family Rik, Tim, Joanne, Eric, and David. His siblings Elaine, Ellen, Grace, Delbert, and Mike. He is preceded in death by parents, Howard and Vesta, and his brother Bryce. Military Services will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA at 9:30 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at Fowler United Methodist Church, 3928 N. Howard St, Spokane, WA at 1:00 pm. The family requests that donations and memorial gifts be given to Hospice House of Spokane or the Union Gospel Mission of Spokane.
