Elizabeth Jane Bacon

Elizabeth Jane Bacon passed away peacefully at her home in Spokane WA on January 2, 2026. She was 92. Betty, as she was called, was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, her son Mark and her parents Veronica and Theodore Kasel.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 8, 1933, Betty was the middle child of three. Robert and Mark were her only siblings. After graduating from Mercy High School in Milwaukee, Betty worked at Northwest Airlines as a reservation’s agent. While there, she met her future husband, Gerald Bacon. (He worked for Frontier Airlines.) They were married on 1/17/1959 at Simon & Jude Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. Betty then became a stay- at- home Mom and had five children: Chris, Mark, Kevin, Karen and Mick.
Her daughter Karen describes her as an introvert, quiet and a homebody. She also enjoyed going on day trips with her husband and loved going out for coffee. According to other family members, Betty had a great sense of humor and liked putting together puzzles and watching veterinarian and cooking shows. She also loved cuddling with her dog Rusty. They used to “talk” to each other and snuggle with a cozy blanket. Throughout her life, Betty had a strong faith and was a Catholic until the end.
Betty is survived by her son Chris and daughter-in-law Kaye, Kevin and daughter-in-law Mary, her daughter Karen and son Mick. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona on Feb. 20th at 11:00am.
