Eleanor Frye

October 22, 1932 - March 01, 2022

Our mom, Eleanor Frye (née Larson), passed away peacefully in Spokane with her loving husband Ron by her side on March 1, 2022. She has left a hole in our hearts as we are grieving the loss of such a strong woman, known by close friends as Ms. Ellie. She was born October 23, 1932, in Douglas, Wyoming. Her family homesteaded in Riverton and later moved to Middleton, Idaho where she graduated. She loved her school days; she was active in F.H.A. as well as being Class Secretary, Pep Club Treasurer, on the Annual Staff, Home Coming Queen and in the Glee Club. Her nickname was “Blondie.” Mom loved riding horses, basically she liked being outdoors being a tomboy. Eleanor had four children, Sandra, Jeanie, Wayne, and Sheryl. Her pride and joy came from being a homemaker. She would sew our clothes and make great meals, she was strict so we minded and did our chores, when we sassed back we got a licking with the willow switch. Mom loved flowers, gardening, traveling, needlepoint, cross-stitch, sewing, quilting, cooking, playing cards, entertaining, reading, family, and at one point in her life even volunteered for the posse in Sun City West. For close to three decades she worked in the airlines industry, working for West Coast, Western, and Delta. She so loved to travel, which can be attested to by the list of places she traveled to, which included, the Philippines, Washington DC, London, England, Scotland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Florida, NY City, Philadelphia, West Virginia, Oregon, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, British Columbia, Alberta, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakoda, 4 Corners(Arizona, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico), Hawaii, California, Alaska, (Cruises; Alaska, Panama), Guam, Pago Pago in America Samoa and Brazil. She loved meeting new people and learning new cultures. Eleanor is survived by her husband Ron Frye, sister Eileen Ragland, and Brother Gary Larson. Followed by her three loving children, Sandra Davenport (Brian Davenport), Wayne Beck, Sheryl Lamb (Michael Lamb). Followed by seven grandchildren, Heidi Neil (Thomas Neil), Aundrea Forrest, Sarah Smith (Brandon Smith), Mickela Covieo (Justin Covieo), Jessica Crockett (Cole Crockett), Samantha Harrison, and Caleb Beck. Six Great-grandchildren, three Great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ruth Larson, brothers Edgar, Gene, and Allan. Also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jeanie Beck. Her family and friends are missing her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that she is walking with Jesus now. Mom’s Celebration of Life will be held at Valley Bible Church, 3067 4th Ave. Valley, WA 99181, Saturday, March 26th at 1:00pm by Pastor George Dungan. If you cannot attend, and you would like, please email jnlambak@gmail.com for a Zoom link. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the church. Our family is grateful for the support and love shown towards our parents, Ellie and Ron over the past 20 years living in Chewelah and attending Valley Bible Church.
