Eleanor Frances Pratt

May 21, 1922 - October 13, 2017

Eleanor Frances (Cameron) Pratt (Age 95) left us on October 13, 2017. She was born on May 21, 1922 in Yakima, WA to Russell and Helen Cameron. She met her husband, Don, while living in Selah, WA. They moved to Pleasant Valley, WA in 1947. They were married for 45 years until Dons death in 1985. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell Cameron and Helen Shaw Cameron, husband Floyd Donald Pratt, children Wayne and Sarah, and siblings Mary Parkison, Susan Nehls, Ruth Pettit, and Bruce Cameron. She is survived by children Steve (Joanne) Pratt, Tim (Cheryl) Pratt, Susan (Gerald) Bolles, Don (Wendy) Pratt, and Anita (Don) Glidewell. Eleanor is the proud matriarch of a large family consisting of 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. Eleanor was known in the community as the Mail Lady delivering mail to the Rice, Pleasant Valley, and Daisy areas. She was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at the age of 65 and took excellent care of herself by walking 5 miles a day, every day, come rain or shine. She was an avid reader and stressed the importance of reading to her children and grandchildren. She would go to town and drop the kids off at the public library for the day while she shopped. She was more than willing to share her extensive library with her family and the kids in the Rice community as well. Eleanor loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She could always be counted on to make a sweater or any alterations necessary for anyones wardrobe. She had baskets and baskets of mittens and hats for anyone who needed them. She made the most of her 95 years on this earth. There is so much to tell and so little time and space to do so. She fought a good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. Rest in peace and we are happy you are reunited with Dad, Wayne, and Sarah. Tim says to enjoy the Tom Petty concert, Steve wants to know what you did with the dining room table, Anita gets the dog. Good lucky potty training. A family memorial service will be held in the spring. Donations may be made to the Stevens County Library Association, Kettle Falls School District, or charity of your choice.
