Duane Hogan

Duane Hogan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 90. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born on June 4, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, Duane lived a life of devotion, kindness, and generosity, leaving a lasting legacy that touched all of his family and many in the community.

Duane graduated from Rogers High School and furthered his education at Kinman Business College where he earned a Jr. Accounting Degree. In 1958, he married Ruby, beginning a journey of love and partnership that lasted 68 years. Together, Duane and Ruby faithfully served their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, their family, friends, and many in their community.

Their union was blessed with four children: Marci, Jeff, Pat, and Kellene, and their family continued to grow with the joy of nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Known for his Christian walk, Duane was a man of wisdom and gentle spirit. He brought a sense of humor and warmth to every gathering. He had a memorable birthday song that will be cherished by all who were treated to his rendition of Happy Birthday. Duane's heart was as big as his love for bass fishing. While fishing together with his brother Jim at the Black Bass Reservoir in Florida, Duane was able to catch a monster bass weighing 11 pounds. A day with his brother that he cherished and never forgot!

When Duane was healthy, he and Ruby were active members of Shiloh Community Church, where they found a spiritual home and friends that they deeply cherished. Even when his health declined, Duane's faith remained steadfast, a guiding light for his family and friends.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Horizon Hospice in Spokane, for their exceptional care and compassion during Duane's final days.

In honor of Duane's generous spirit, donations can be made to the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane. Duane's life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those he leaves behind.
