Doris was born in rural Davenport, North Dakota to Marie and Herman Glasow. She and her twin brother, Donald, were the youngest children growing up on the family farm along with her two older sisters, Laura and Helen, and an older brother, Ervin. She graduated from Casselton High and later from St. John’s Nursing School in Fargo through the Cadet Nursing Program. After that she moved to Spokane and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital. She met Dale Larson and fell in love. They married in 1948 and had three children; Linda, Douglas and Andrew and 46 years of a truly happy marriage. They have 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
