Donna M Nielson

October 25, 1937 - August 28, 2014

Donna was born on Oct 25, 1937 in Chicago, IL. She was 5 years old when she came to Washington. Donna attended Cooper Grade School and Rogers High School. She met Larry Nielsen who became the love of her life at Rogers. They were married on July 7, 1956. They have two children, Dean and Linda. Two beautiful grandchildren Shane Reilly and Kelsey Reilly, who were very special to her and are known as her â??Angels on Earthâ?. Donna was preceded in death by her mother Beaulah Deatherage and Grandmother Julia Northrup. She is survived by her husband Larry; brother Jerry Deatherage and his wife Trena; two children and two grandchildren. She was very active at Rogers High School planning the school reunions. Then later she was in charge of all school reunions when the new school opened â?? Larry was her #1 helper. Besides her family, Donnaâ??s other passion was gardening! In fact, Donna and Larry celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in the Nielsenâ??s garden surrounded by family and many friends. There will be a Celebration of Life at The Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 Wellesley Spokane, WA on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to Hospice of Spokane.
