HIXSON, Donna Jean (Brisbin)

January 26, 1941- January 25, 2024

Age 82


Donna was born in Helena, Montana to Walter and Vivian Brisbin.


She mainly lived in Three Forks, Montana where she attended grades 1 through 12, graduating in 1959.

After high school she married Harry Roy Hixson July 4, 1959 and relocated to Spokane, WA.

Donna enjoyed her many family members, children, grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

For over 30 years she enjoyed completing tax preparations for clients, owning a craft supplies and stained-glass shop in Spokane Valley. She also enjoyed China painting with her mom, sewing beautiful quilts, spending time tending her beautiful flower beds, and gardening with her husband, Harry.


She also enjoyed attending summer concerts with family, camping, and also large family reunion gatherings. She had a special place in her heart for babies, whether it was her family or other people’s children. She liked her pets and spending late winters at their home in Green Valley, AZ.

Donna had several special friends over the years, and she met some of them while being active with bowling and golf teams.


Preceding her in death were her parents Bud and Vivian Brisbin; her husband Harry of 62 years; and sister Linda Kelly. She leaves behind her sister Carol Lesiak of Chester, Montana; brother Mike (Carol) Brisbin of Prescott, AZ; and 10 nieces and nephews.


Also, leaving behind son Richard (Joanne) of Coeur d’ Alene; daughter Marci (Brad) Highley of Spokane Valley; granddaughter Tara; grandson Travis (Anna) Hixson of Coeur d’ Alene; granddaughters Jessica (Kenny) Davis of Olympia and Anna (DJ) Shawver of Spokane Valley; grandson Matt Highley of Spokane Valley; and 13 great grandchildren.

Interment will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley, WA.
