David Serry, age 63, passed from this earth into our Saviors arms on August 3rd, 2017. He was blessed to see 23,359 sunsets in his time on earth. He was born in Pomona, CA to Earl and Betty Serry, the youngest of 3 children. - David worked in the produce industry in California nearly 20 years before moving up to Spokane, WA, where he married his wife MaryBeth and became a delivery driver. He would say, with pride, that he drove millions of miles during his time as a driver and likely could tell you the exact amount of miles he actually drove. David loved to drive to explore new places and enjoyed watching the seasonal changes while on the road. He enjoyed sharing this love with family, friends and anyone who would listen. - David had a large heart both physically and spiritually and succumbed to complications from a heart transplant. His desire was to share Jesus and His love with everyone including the poor, destitute and lonely. David was a man of passion, humor, wit & kindness. He wasnt a saint, but beloved to many. - David Serry is survived by a host of friends and family. His wife MaryBeth at home, daughter Amy (John) Botica and granddaughters Eliana & Abrielle (Escondido, CA), stepchildren Jessica (Nate) Abbott (Spokane Valley), David (Seattle) and Shawn Knapp (Spokane), brother Alan Serry (Palomar Mt., CA) and sister Peggy Serry (Alamosa, CO). - A Celebration of Life for David will be held at River City Church 708 W. Nora Spokane, WA on Sept 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Extra thanks to all the staff at Providence Hospital, including the Mechanical Heart and Transplant team, Drs. Kai Inhken, Andrew Coletti, John Everett and transplant coordinator, Pam Hester. Your knowledge and tenacity allowed us many extra years with this precious man.
