SERPA, David (Age 58) - The Great Northwests Elk population took a big sigh of relief Monday 27 February, 2017 when, David Serpa, 58, of Spokane Valley, Washington said his final farewell at 12:31 a.m. at home surrounded by loved ones. - Dave was born January 15, 1959 in Boise Idaho of Gerald and Gail Serpa. He moved to the northwest in 1966 and attended Rogers High school in Spokane where he loved track, wrestling, and football. He then attended the Arizona Automotive Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He followed his dream of owning acreage of his own and in 1995 moved his immediate family, Heather Salerno and two sons David and Brandon, to northern Idaho until he returned to Spokane Valley, WA in 2007. - Dave was employed throughout his life as a drywall installer and general contractor, building many of the prominent buildings and homes throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. - As a motor head and avid outdoorsmen; he enjoyed tinkering, turning a wrench, and loved his many years of hunting and fishing the mountains and streams of the great northwest. He was fond of hunting big game and took every opportunity to teach those skills, knowledge, and his love for the outdoors, to his sons. He will live on through every fish caught and every hunting expedition for many Serpa generations. - Dave is survived by his 4 Sons; David M. Serpa (Christa) of Marysville, WA, Brandon R. Serpa (Ashley) of Spokane, Patrick D. Salerno of Spokane and Tyler Wright of Spokane; 3 Grandsons David J. Serpa, John W. Serpa, Anthony Salerno and Granddaughter Savannah Salerno; Mother Gail Harty of Spokane Valley, Father Gerald Serpa of Elk, WA and Step Mother Caroline Serpa, of Elk, WA; 2 Sisters Julie McGlynn and Terri Hilbun; and 3 brothers Michael Serpa, Ronn Soderberg and Jon Grubby Soderberg; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. - A memorial will be held on Saturday, 11 March, 2017 at 1100 a.m. at East Point Church 15303 E Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037. Following the memorial there will be a celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. held at Charlie Ps 8125 E Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA 99212.
