September 15, 1955 - September 15, 2016
Dave wholeheartedly gave of himself to everyone he loved & everything he held near and dear. He volunteered his time in various organizations over the years & also loved to hunt & fish. Antiques was a hobby he cherished & he and his wife delighted in searching yard sales for treasures. He had various jobs through his life, but working as a chef was the one he was most passionate about. All who knew him quickly realized & were blessed with his incredible gift of cooking. Hundreds delighted in his fervor for feeding as many and as often as he could. He is most remembered for making others laugh, his innocent nonsense & steadfast devotion to his wife. He will be sorely missed by all. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Walter Gunstrom & brothers Walter Max Gunstrom & Bob Gunstrom. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rita Gunstrom; mother Edith Wentz, step father Wendelin Wentz; sisters Nicole Shipley, Lois Korzonthowski & Karen Plybon; brothers, Donald Gunstrom, Daniel Gunstrom; multiple step brothers & sisters, numerous nieces, nephews & great nieces & nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family/Providence Health Care Foundation, Eastern Washington 101 W. 8th Ave. Spokane, WA 99204. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley with a graveside to follow.
