March 22, 2000 - September 19, 2023
Daniel David Ross Morris, 23, died suddenly on September 19, 2023. He was born in Redlands, CA, on March 22, 2000, to Emily H. Ross and Joseph E. Morris. From infancy, Daniel showed extraordinary intelligence and was constantly impressing his family with his learning abilities. He attended a Spokane Montessori school, where he learned to read chapter books by age 5. For middle school, he attended West Valley City School, which focuses on experiential learning, teaching students the skills they need to solve real-life problems. Daniel graduated from North Central High School in 2018, where he received numerous awards, including Distinguished Senior in Social Studies and acknowledgements for highest test scores in both geography and world history. He also earned a full-ride scholarship to Whitworth University. Daniel’s interests included reading, writing and the great outdoors. He was sensitive, reserved and selfless; a loyal son and brother. Although he was very practical, he was also a dreamy and fanciful person whose creative imagination was expressed through literature and his personal journals. Daniel is preceded in death by his mother, Emily; grandparents David and Jeanette Morris; and grandfather Elbert Ross, with whom he shared a birth date. He is survived by his father, Joe; brother, Isaac (21); sister, Madeleine (18); and grandmother Stefana LaVerde Ross, as well as by aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him deeply. Please consider making a memorial contribution in Daniel's name to Forefront Suicide Prevention. https://intheforefront.org/giving-opportunities/
