May 16, 1920 - October 14, 2016

Passed away October 14, 2016 at Pine Ridge Alzheimers Special Care Center. He was born May 16, 1920 in Carrington, North Dakota to Nels and Clara Anderson. Cordes served in the U.S. Army 1942-1945, reaching the rank of Sergeant in the Military Police. He met Irene Brecto after the war, and they were married in North Dakota. They came west in 1947 to Spokane where they raised 6 children. Cordes is survived by 5 children: Nancy Corchero of Reno, NV; Bruce Anderson of Worley, ID; Steve Anderson of Hoquiam, WA; Keith Anderson and Robert Anderson of Spokane Valley, WA; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene, daughter Linda Frandsen, and brother Larry Anderson. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 28 at 2 pm (preceded by visitation at 12noon) in the Pines Mausoleum, 12116 E. 16th Ave., Spokane Valley. Graveside Service with military honors to follow in Pines Cemetery at 3:30 pm. The family suggests memorials be made to Horizon Hospice. Community Cremation & Funeral Spokane Valley - 13127 E.
