Connie Mae Mahoney was born on December 11, 1960, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Donald Ellis Wiens and Jacqueline Mae Wiens. She grew up in Oregon and graduated from McMinnville High School. On March 1, 2026, she passed away, leaving behind a lifetime of memories shaped by love, laughter, and her unmistakable spark.
Connie was known for her playful spirit and quick sense of humor — a trait that was evident from a very young age. She loved playing pranks, keeping people on their toes, and making others laugh. Her warmth and humor made everyone feel welcome. As a girl, she shared many adventures with her cousin and lifelong best friend, Lori, and that close bond remained throughout her life.
She moved from Oregon to Kennewick, Washington, and later to Montana, where she met Patrick Mahoney. Connie and Pat were married for 26 years. They later moved to Spokane and eventually settled at the “cabin,” where they built a quiet life together. For the last 20+ years, they enjoyed slow mornings with coffee, caring for their animals, and embracing the peaceful country life.
Being a mom was her greatest pride. Her daughters — Rachelle, Jessica, and Samantha — were her heart, and summers spent with them in Montana were among her most treasured memories. When her grandchildren came along, they became her world. She never missed a chance to brag about them and share their stories.
Volunteering at Care and Share in Davenport, Washington, was her pride and joy outside of family. Serving others brought her purpose, and she formed friendships there that she deeply cherished.
Connie was creative to her core. She loved painting and crafting and almost always had a Pinterest-inspired project in the works. She was a master canner who took pride in preserving food and lining her shelves with jars of her hard work. Gardening, filling pots with flowers, thrifting for her beloved “treasures,” caring for her chickens, and keeping hummingbird feeders full were simple joys that made up the life she loved.
In recent years, one of her greatest joys was spending the spring in Louisiana — soaking up the warm weather, eating blue crab, and enjoying precious time with family.
Connie is survived by her husband, Patrick Mahoney; her daughters Rachelle Hillery (Shavar), Samantha Mill (Braden), and Jessica Harper (Shawn); her cherished grandchildren Jamichael Hillery, Connor Harper, Kimora Estrada, Logan Harper, Trevor Hillery, Khalil Estrada, Caiden Hillery, and Kingston Mill; her sister Denise McCormick; her brother Mike Wiens; her half-siblings; and many dear friends she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Wiens, and her mother, Jacqueline Lacey.
Connie will be remembered for her playful sense of humor, her love for her family, her chicken obsession, and her many treasured finds. Above all, she will be remembered for the deep and steady love she gave so freely. Her favorite words were “love you more,” and those words will forever echo in the hearts of those she loved most.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Bible Fellowship in Davenport, Washington, on April 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie’s honor may be made to Davenport Care and Share Food Bank and Thrift Store, 203 Morgan Street, Davenport, WA 99122
