Born October 26, 1945, died peacefully September 7, 2015 with family at her side. Claudia was born to Melvin and Ella Anderson of Cheney, WA, and she attended Cheney schools with her sister, Janice (Anderson) Harris, and brother, Jerry “Red” Anderson. She met her husband, Donald E. Tarbert, prior to graduating from Cheney High School. They married in 1963 when Claudia was 17 years of age and they married at the Hitching Post in Coeur d’Alene, ID. In 1975, they adopted their son, Gregory J. Tarbert. Over the years, Claudia and her family resided in Medical Lake, Cheney, and Spokane, staying close to her family roots and her loved ones. Claudia worked for the State of Washington for 30 years before retiring in 2005. She worked for Eastern Washington State College, Washington State Department of Highways, Lakeland Village, and Eastern State Hospital in a variety of roles. She made many friends and acquaintances along the way and they were all dear to her heart. Claudia was described by all as beautiful, strong, caring, thoughtful, and loving. She loved her family dearly and she will be missed greatly by all whose lives she touched. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Martha Ann, her brother Jerry, and her husband Don. Claudia is survived by: her sister, Janice, and her husband Richard of Post Falls, ID; son Gregory, his wife Rachel, and three grandsons Koen, Niko, and Ross, of Orlando, FL; nephews Brian Anderson of Cheney, WA, and Ken Harris of Kent, WA; nieces Linda Garves, of Spokane Valley, WA, Lori Thomas, of Walla Walla, WA, and Brenda Rippee, of Greenacres, WA - and all of their families who loved Claudia greatly. Per Claudia’s wishes, there will be no service. She will be laid to rest at Spokane Memorial Gardens with her beloved, and deeply missed husband, Don, during a private family ceremony.
