ALLOWAY, Clarence Clifton ""Corky"" Made his transition on Sunday, November 10 surrounded by family in his home of 34 years which he shared at the time of his death with his youngest daughter, Alisa Gergawy and her family (husband Magdi; and daughter Mia). Corky was widowed at the time of his passing but his thoughts were never far from his beloved wife of 50 years Maxine Alloway. Corky was born in Spokane, WA on March 6, 1924 to Bolton Galbreth Alloway and Helene Marie (Eriksen). He was a true Spokane boy - attending North Central High School and Whitworth College. Corky was a proud veteran of both WWII and the Korean War. He served mostly in China during WWII, flying many missions over the ""hump"". He earned several decorations and honors from his heroic service to our country including the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars and the WWII Victory Medal. Corky retired from Kaiser Aluminium after an over 35 year career. He was a member of the Shriners Organization and helped many local children get life changing medical attention and treatment. Corky is survived by his four children Fred Alloway (spouse Lynn), Carol Miller (spouse Dennis), Gary Alloway (spouse Bonnie) and Alisa Gergawy (spouse Magdi); grandchildren - Lauren, Brittany, Marty, Robert, Michael, Melissa, Vinny, Vanessa and Mia; great-grandchildren - Kayla, Kinley, Macie, Jaden, Brielle, Gavin and Jace. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother (Howard Alloway). Corky will be dearly missed and was greatly loved. The Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at Advent Lutheran Church - 13009 E. Broadway Ave. Spokane Valley, WA 99216 on Wednesday, November 20th at 11 AM.
