January 23, 1956 - December 25, 2013
Charlotte (Smith) Brumfield, 57, of Spokane was called home to be with the Lord on his birthday, December 25, 2013, after a short, but difficult battle with cancer. Charlotte was born in Spokane, Washington on January 23, 1956 to Bob and Kathy Smith, and grew up with her brothers and sisters on East Buckeye in Spokane Valley. Shortly after graduating from West Valley High school, Charlotte moved to Seattle where she managed Anthonyâ??s and met Ken, who became her husband on November 30th, 1985. After spending several years in Seattle, Charlotte and Ken moved back to Spokane to be close to their family. Charlotte is survived by her husband Ken of 28 years, her mother Kathy Smith, her sister Diana (Dan) Henry, her brother Bob, her brother Larry (Sue) Smith, and her youngest brother Steve, (Jennifer) Smith. She also leaves behind countless cousins, nephews, nieces and many other caring relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her grandmother Marie Cross, her niece Alishia Smith, her father Bob Smith, and her aunts Darlene and Louise. Her final days were spent with her family surrounding her, as she touched the lives of many throughout her lifetime. Although her life was cut short, she lived her life to the fullest, savoring and cherishing every moment. Family and friends were Charlotteâ??s love and joy. She loved to entertain and frequently had dinner and cocktail parties at her house, though her favorite place was at her familyâ??s home on Pend Oreille River, where she enjoyed some of her happiest times. She loved being on the water, sitting around the fire, playing games, and just spending time laughing with friends and family. Her love of life also included her cats (Sassy, Keisha, and Misha), music, dancing, wine, decorating and fashion. Charlotte had an unmistakable laugh that could light up any room! She will be especially remembered for her quick wit, spirit of adventure, and total love of life . . . LIVE, LAUGH, LOVE are three words that sum up Charlotteâ??s passion for life. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 11th, at the Valley Real Life Ministries, 1831 South Barker in Greenacres, WA. A reception will follow at Steve and Jennifer Smithâ??s home.
