Carrie Jean Martin

September 04, 1975 - March 07, 2021

Carrie Jean Martin (VanZandt) passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Hospital on March 7, 2021 surrounded by her family after a horrific car accident in which she was a passenger. Carrie was born on September 4, 1975 in LaGrande, Oregon to Bruce and Roberta VanZandt. She spent her life in Spokane after her parents moved back in January 1977. After graduating from high school, she spent the next 26 years being a full time Mom to her four children. She so loved her children and was a wonderful mother. During those years she worked very hard to receive her Phlebotomy and CMA degrees which she was very proud of. Her family was also proud of all her accomplishments. She worked at the Christ Clinic for about four years. - Carrie was a sweet, loving, and caring sister, daughter, niece, mother, and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her entire family. - Carrie is survived by her parents Bruce and Roberta VanZandt; brother Matt (Alicia) VanZandt, Spokane; her four children, Taylor Martin (Lauren), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, daughters Ashlynn and Hallie Martin, Spokane, son, Justin Sorrells, Hickory, North Carolina; her grandmother Betty Smith; and her grandchildren Addilynn and Xayden, all of Spokane, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. - In lieu of flowers please donate to the Christ Kitchen, 2410 N. Monroe St, Spokane, WA, 99205. A family get together will be planned later this summer.
