April 17, 1956 - April 30, 2018
Carrie (Age 62) passed away on April 30, 2018, at home in Spokane, WA with her husband John Rollins, and daughters Heather and Erin at her side. Carrie was born in Fremont, CA to John and Norma Jeanne Kitta. She grew up in happiness with brother John and sisters Kathy and Sharon. She lived in the Bay Area until meeting her future husband John in 1986. Her adventurous spirit took her to travel over 500 miles to Washington State, where she and John married, and their adventures would begin together. Carrie would go on to travel enormous miles – from Milton, WA to Spokane to Twin Falls, ID, and back to Spokane to stay. She and John would share adventures in overseas trips to London, Venice, Chamonix, France, and Germany, just to name a few. However, as Carrie Anne would know, rainbows can be seen and enjoyed in any country, and no two people experience a rainbow in quite the same way. Carrie Anne was a rainbow. She brought light and color to so many people, and it did not take an exotic locale to do it. Whether it was spending a family weekend with grandchildren at the property or grabbing bread at the local grocery store, Carrie’s light drew people in with reasons they might not understand. Carrie Anne used her joy to help families with young children in the Head Start program for over twenty years. Those young children recognized and shared the joy and adventuresome spirit Carrie possessed. Carrie is survived by her husband John. She is also survived by her children and their spouses: Heather and John Carver, Erin and Ethan Bruner, and Zach and Jenn Rollins, who should all tend to the garden, and her grandchildren Ezekiel, Elissa, and Elijah Bruner and Henry Rollins, who are to take charge of “rainbow time”. Memorial contributions in Carrie’s name can be sent to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery in Spokane, WA. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 11 at the Sunset Chapel, inside Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, at 1 p.m. and pizza reception to follow down the street at Fieldhouse Pizza and Pub.
