Candy Lou Steele Griffin, was born on July 18, 1946 in Bear River, Utah, she passed away August 27, 2017 in Spokane, Washington. - Candy married young and had two children, Ginger and Taffy, where the family eventually moved to Boise, Idaho where they stayed. The marriage did not last for long and once she divorced she really started spreading her wings and put herself through school, receiving her Bachelors and Masters degree in Literature from Boise State University. With these degrees, she began a career with State Governments. Eventually working for the State of Idaho Governor and then the State of Alaska Governor after moving to Juneau. - Once her children grew up, Candy started moving around the country trying out new and exciting places to live before she eventually decided to put in roots in Spokane where she wanted to focus her career on writing a Novel. - Candy had spent the last 10 years sick and fighting various forms of cancer and kidney disease, eventually becoming too sick to continue working on her novel, so it still sits incomplete. - Candy is survived by her two daughters, Ginger (Keith) and Taffy, five grandchildren; Justin, Kendall, Charlene, Jessica and Nick, along with nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Mary Jo, Jesse, Tanya, Kitty and Holly. - She was preceded in death by her grandparents, who raised her. Her parents, Jesse and Jackie, and her step mother, Virginia. Also by her beloved younger brother, Gordon, whom I hope was there to greet her.
