Candis Mae Reichman was born November 6th, 1947 in Spokane, Washington to Hazel Mae Rickman and Bill Alamander Rickman. She graduated from Shadle Park High School with the class of 1966. She worked during and after high school at Harvey’s Men’s Store, graduating from customer service to bookkeeping. She then transitioned to working in the medical field, starting with Deaconess Hospital. She moved with friends to Honolulu, Hawaii where she continued in medical support and transcriptionist work. She greatly enjoyed working for Drs. Shields, Sutherland, Burroughs, and Judge back in Spokane until she moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she and her first husband, Gary Wayne Assing, had their son Mathew. It was then that Candis changed her primary focus to working as a homemaker for her family. After moving back to Spokane, Candis and Gary had their daughter, Sonya. She also later returned to work in medical support at Spokane Pulmonology. Candis enjoyed and supported her family’s adventures with camping, water sports, and expanding their home. Later in life, Candis married David Louis Reichman, and enjoyed the adventures of “snow birding” to Arizona for several winters. She was best known for her ease of socializing, appreciation for antiques and Victorian decor, patience, and most of all her love for God and others. Candis passed away on May 5th, 2024. She is loved by all who knew her, including those still on Earth: her brother Brad (Linda), nieces Lesli (Shaun) and Jaime, nephew Troy (Jenn), daughter Sonya (Scott), granddaughter Sophie, grandson Michael, and many friends and extended family. Among those who greeted her on the other side were Candis’ sons (Jonathan [passed shortly before his birth in 1976] and Mathew [passed in 2020]), mother, father, sister (Connie), niece (Amanda), husband (Dave), and her Creator
