Bonnie Jean Hartill, born Womack, passed peacefully on June 1, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. She spent the better part of her life rooted in Colville — a community she shaped in ways that will echo for generations.
Bonnie was a woman of remarkable warmth, fierce love, and just enough spice to keep everyone on their toes. Her signature red hair was as much a part of her personality as her laugh, her faith, and her absolute refusal to let a birthday, a milestone, or a hard day go unacknowledged.
As a hairdresser she did far more than style hair — she created a space where people felt seen and cared for. She later provided daycare for multiple generations of families.
Bonnie was an active, devoted Christian, and her belief was lived out loud, every single day, in every act of service and love she offered.
Her dear friend Lloyd Shillam preceded her in death, as did her parents, Audrey and Lyle Womack, and grandparents Bernice and Lawrence Cooper.
She is survived by her children Shelly Brown Stroisch, Kelly Brown, Keith and Carly Brown, Shannon Antoine. Uncle Gary Cooper, Aunt Donna Cooper, and Cousin Erin Cooper Nelson, Cousin Kathy Cooper, Cousin Dot Javorka, Cousin Melinda Thrasher Daugherty, and Jerry Antoine. Grandchildren Cheyenne Duran, Gage Stroisch, Madison Swiderski, Kaitlyn Dennis, Kaitlyn Brown, Riley Brown, Miguel Brown, and Abigale Brown, Cierra Antoine, Lakota Antoine, Shawnee Antoine, and her great-grandchildren Aria and Liam Swiderski, and Aksel Stroisch.
She was one of a kind — and those of us lucky enough to be loved by her will spend the rest of our lives learning to carry that love forward, and learning to live without her, one day at a time.
Bonnie will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial terrace in Spokane, beside her mother and father — right where she belongs.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date — details to follow.
