Beverly Karen Lloyd

April 27, 1957 - May 09, 2014

Went to be with our Lord on May 9, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 27, 1957, at Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem, Oregon. Her family relocated to Virginia when she was an infant. She lived 20 years in Manassas, Virginia, where she attended Parkside Elementary and Middle School. She graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School, also in Manassas, in 1975. She moved to Spokane, Washington in 1977 where she lived until the mid 1980â??s when she moved to western Washington but then moved back to Spokane in 1988 where she lived until 2001. She moved to the Eastern Shore of Virginia in 2001 where she lived until she returned to Spokane in 2011. Beverly was a member of Fowler United Methodist Church in Spokane where she served as church secretary and as editor of the church newsletter, â??Flashes.â? She also taught a Sunday school class at Fowler and enjoyed the challenge. She loved her church and her church family and loved serving the Lord. Beverly was a member of Craddockville United Methodist Church while living on the Shore. She served the Lord in various capacities while she lived on the Shore. She was a Certified Lay Speaker for the Eastern Shore District and as secretary for the Occohannock on the Bay Board of Directors. She never refused speaking at a church when asked, no matter what time or distance. At Craddockville she was co-leader of Craddockville Vacation Bible School, active in her Sunday School class, taking her turns at leading it, assisting with Communion, helping with Kidâ??s Club, and just generally serving in whatever ways she was needed, often stepping outside of her comfort zone. Beverly especially loved cooking for people. She was always coming up with new recipes to try or making up her own. She loved animals. When living in western Washington she volunteered at Point Defiance Zoo and she worked for the Spokane Humane Society at one time. She loved playing Words with Friends and Scrabble which kept her in touch with so many friends in Virginia and if you were playing Trivial Pursuit, be sure to have her as a partner. She would say that she was bi-coastal because she just loved being close to or at the ocean but she also loved Spokane. She had an infectious laugh and a beautiful smile that will be missed by many. Beverly is survived by her son, Timothy David Lloyd; her mother and stepfather, Betty Jean Clift Armstrong and Kenneth (Skeeter) Armstrong; her sister, Christine Ault and her husband, Steve; her niece, Deanna Diehl and her husband James and their children Jacob and Joseph; her nephew, David Eagan and his wife Gemelle and their children Willow and Cam. She is also survived by her dear friend, Sharon Houston who was also Beverlyâ??s advocate and caregiver during her last days. In addition, she is survived by her father, David G. Davis of Spokane and Timothyâ??s dad, Lester Lloyd of Wenatchee. Beverly was predeceased by her brother, David L. Davis. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society or Fowler United Methodist Church. Memorial services for Beverly will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 11:00 a.m. at Fowler United Methodist Church, 3928 N. Howard, Spokane, WA.
