Beulah Naomi Whitlow

February 20, 1936 - July 9, 2024

Beulah Naomi (Paulsson) Whitlow, 88, of Spokane, passed away July 9, 2024. She was born on February 20, 1936 to Anders Ragnar and Helen Edith Elizabeth (Nordberg) Paulsson in Pleasant Prairie, Washington.

Beulah graduated from John R. Rogers High School in June of 1954. She was a librarian in the Spokane Public Library for two years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Seattle Pacific College in 1962. Her 30 year teaching career was in the Edmonds School District (except for a three year teaching position in Leeds, England).

Beulah married the love of her life, Robert L. Whitlow, in November 1964, and they established their home in Seattle. Bob & Beulah then spent three years in Leeds, England and traveled extensively there before moving back to Seattle. In 1985 they opened the Colonel Crocket Farm Bed and Breakfast Inn on Whidbey Island, Washington and hosted 23,000 guests over the next 20 years.

Bob & Beulah moved into Coupeville, Washington and remained there until Bob’s passing in 2017. Beulah then returned to Spokane and has happily resided at Touchmark on the South Hill for the last four years.

Beulah’s happiest moments were spent singing praises to Jesus and keeping up with her extensive correspondence. She loved to send cards and letters to family and friends from all walks of her life.

Beulah is survived by her stepson, Richard R. (Beth) Whitlow of Castle Rock, Colorado, and their children and families, her stepdaughter, Paula (Bill) Pine of Goodyear, Arizona; her siblings, Grace Holmes of Kennewick, Daniel (Alta) Paulsson of Moses Lake, Ruth (Philip) Isaak of Spokane, Sarah (David) Schlewitz of Pampa, Texas, Sharon (Timothy) Greeley of Post Falls, Idaho, Anders (Debbie) Paulsson of Spokane Valley and Julia (Richard) Meader of Seattle; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Whitlow, her parents, Anders and Helen Paulsson, brother, Philip Paulsson and sister, Elizabeth Funk.

A celebration of life will be at Touchmark on July 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Memorials may be made to  Northwest Christian Schools, Colbert, WA, or to the charity of your choice.
