Betty (Age 92) passed away March 21, 2018. She was born in Thief River Falls, MN, the third child of Ray and Mabel Curtiss. Born August 6, 1925, she attended a little country school and graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1944. In 1945, Betty moved to Seattle, WA to work for Boeing Air Craft, to help the war effort, then moved to Spokane, WA where she worked for Swift Packing Co. There she met the love of her life, Jack Stewart. Together they had two sons, Ronald Wayne Stewart and Randall Ray Stewart. Betty was a long-standing member of the Lidgerwood Presbyterian Church, helping in the Sunday school during the years her boys attended. Betty was a very involved mother, being a part of the P.T.A., receiving a golden acorn award, and volunteering at their Whitman Elementary School. Betty also served her community by delivering meals on wheels and serving as treasurer at the Baptist Church where her sons attended kindergarten. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Caroll and Russell, and her sister Dorothy. She is survived by her husband, Jack, and sons Ronald (Patricia) and Randall (Sandra), numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 29, from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way. A Funeral Service will be held at the Sunset Chapel inside Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley, Friday, March 30, 2018, at 11:00 am Graveside Service to follow.
