Aurora passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Spokane Valley, Washington after a fourteen year battle with MS. Aurora was born in Mexico City, Mexico and lived and worked there until she was 28. She met her future husband in Mazatlan, Mexico and moved to Spokane to be married in 1988 to Gary Brown. Aurora became fluent in English and earned her high school degree. She then went to Spokane Falls Community College and earned her AA degree. Aurora graduated from Gonzaga University in 1995. She was so proud to be alumnus of Gonzaga University. Aurora loved school and was driven to complete her education. Aurora wanted to use her education to help others. She began working part-time for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union in organizing a meat packing plant in Toppenish, Washington. Aurora then started a career at WorkSource Spokane as an employment specialist. She loved her job and helping people. Eventually Auroraâ??s disease progressed and she had to leave her job. She spent the last years of her life living at Sullivan Park Care Center. The family would like to say thank you to Sullivan Park for the care they provided. Aurora was preceded in death by her mother, Julieta Rubluo Calva, who we know is waiting for her with open arms. She is survived by her daughter Daniela Brown, her son Gary Marquez Brown, her former husband Gary William Brown, her brother in Mexico City, Juan Carlos Marquez Rubluo, along with numerous extended family in Mexico City and Spokane. Special acknowledgements should be made to Sharon Meier (her second mother), her sister-in-law Polly Phelan-Flachman and to her special friend Doug Warner who brought happiness to her later in life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 10:00 AM, at St. Maryâ??s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Rd, Spokane Valley.
