Audre Lois Vannurden
Audre Lois Vannurden
October 3, 1942 – September 9, 2026

Audre Vannurden, 83 of Spokane, WA passed away after putting up a good fight against a sudden illness. All who knew her know that she was more than a little feisty and she gave it all she had.
Audre was born to Vincent Maloy and Bretta Bea McFarlin in California while her father was serving overseas, enlisted in the army. Little Audre weighed only three pounds at birth. As a life-long reader, she often played school with her sisters Joyce (deceased) and Nancy. Audre was always the teacher.
Audre graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA in 1961 and married Bud Wickstrom in 1963. Audre and Bud were married until he passed away in 1980. She later married her long-time friend, Don Vannurden.

Audre dearly loved her neighbors, dogs and family. She knew the names of most of the neighborhood pets and kids. She enjoyed watching the children ride bikes and play on their quiet street and looked out for everyone. She also enjoyed cultivating the variety of colorful flowers in her yard, but her special joyswere her current dog Buddy as well as hearing about and receiving photos of her granddaughters Bailey Grindley (Spokane, WA), Larissa Mignola (League City, TX) and Mikaela Wilson (Heber City, UT); and her great-grandchildren Lydia (9), Milo (4), Annabelle (4) and David (2), along with the grand-pups Bentley, Juniper and Floyd.
Audre is survived by her husband of nearly 38 years, Don Vannurden and step-daughter, Lailla Matthews (Frisco, CO).
No memorial is planned per Audre’s request.
