August 05, 1927 - June 18, 2018
Ann M. Travis, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on June 18, 2018. She was born in Brewster, NY on Au-gust 5, 1927. She married Frank G. Travis and had three chil-dren, Michael, James, and Joann. She was proud of being one of the first female bartenders in Spokane and was referred to af-fectionately as “Annie” by those who knew her during her 40 years at the Shack Restaurant. She had a great gift with people. She could put a smile on your face, had a quick wit, and a straightforward style. Often, she worked two jobs with long hours to help provide for her family, teaching us the value of hard work. At the age when most people retired, she opened her own busi-ness. Most importantly, Mom demonstrated her devout faith by always attending mass every Sunday. She was known for her holiday decorations, hosting Thanksgiving and Easter family gatherings and for the treats she always had waiting when you would drop in to visit. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Michael (Cheri), James (Julie), Joann; grandchildren, Michael (Cindy) Travis, Pat-rick (Angie) Travis, Jimmy (Holly) Travis, Sarah (Chris) Duff, Emi-ly (Trevor) Shull and 8 great grandchildren. We appreciate all those who helped Mom as her health declined, especially our sister, Joann. The family will have a private in-ternment.
