WILLAIM BURTON PORTER SEPTMBER 171924JANUARY 132018 - - Bill passed away on January 13, 2018, at his home in Spokane Washington. He was born in Eureka MT, on September 17, 1924, to William R Porter and Pearl I Millerman, who were married in Balsam Lake Wisconsin, then moved to Montana to raise their family. Bill lived in Eureka until his senior year at Lincoln County High school when he joined the Army Air Corp on June 24, 1943. He trained on B17 and B29's and was a power turret and gunsight mechanic in WWII until his discharge on February 11, 1946. After his discharge, he went to Technical school on the GI bill. He married Joan M Murray in 1953 and they lived in Spokane, then moved to Sullivan Lake while he worked on Boundary Dam. They settled in Spokane Valley to raise their family. He worked as a logger in MT for many years and commuted. Then he went to work for Long Lake Lumber as a Millwright, until he started his own sawmill in Usk, WA. After the sale of the sawmill he went to work for WI forest products as a night watchman. He retired from there when he was 68. He loved wood working and made a lot of furniture over the years. He also loved animals, Classic cars, westerns, and having his family around. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Porter and Pearl Millerman, his wife Joan Marilyn Porter (Murray), his sons William Murray Porter (Bill), Andrew John Pavlischak (Skip), His siblings Hazel, Beulah, Fay, John, Lester (Bud), Margie, Ted, Jean, and Bob. He is survived by his brother Pat Porter (Cheryl), his children Robert Pavlischak, Debbie Hall (Wayne), Steve Porter, Tina Kane, Julie Porter, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
