William Bill Bremer passed away unexpectedly on December 31st, 2016 in the comfort of his home. Bill was born on December 28th, 1953 in Spokane, WA to George and Loretta Bremer. Being an Air Force brat, Bill was fortunate to have been able to travel the world and live in numerous countries, making friends across the globe as he grew up. In 1970, he was able to permanently call Spokane his home. He went on to attend San Jose State University where he played collegiate football for the university and went on to make the practice team for the New York Jets. A lifelong learner, Bill obtained his PhD and also went back to school to become a massage therapist for professional athletes. Over the course of 30+ years, Bill was one of the most well regarded and respected individuals in the field of Risk/Loss Control and Prevention. As an avid adventurer and outdoorsman, Bill loved going on camping trips, snowmobiling, boating, and hunting with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Kristy Bremer, son Blane Bremer, daughter-in-law Jenny Bremer, sister Valerie Whitney, brother-in-law Michael Whitney, niece Danielle Whitney, and nephew Shaun Whitney. A celebration of Bills life will be held at St Paschal Catholic Church (2523 N Park Rd) on Saturday, January 7th 2017 at 1:00pm. Reception following at Manito Golf & Country Club. As a lifelong lover of animals, Bill would have loved any donations to be directed in his name to the Spokane Humane Society, SCRAPS, or the ASPCA.
