Stanley Richard Henson

September 28, 1948 - May 27, 2022

Stanley (Rick) Richard Henson passed quietly in the night on March 27th, 2022 at the age of 73. Rick was born September 28th, 1948 in Spokane, WA to Stanley Rice Henson and Dorothea Virginia Henson. After graduating from North Central High school and attending SCC, at the age of 25 he married the love of his life, Peggy Palmer. They were blessed with two children, Jon and Jeff. Rick and Peggy celebrated 48 years of marriage, spending the majority of that time on their acreage in the country where they shared a passion for gardening. He worked for Oxarc for 49 years, retiring in 2014, but not really. During his retirement, he still went to work almost daily. Rick loved what he did, and it showed. Many of his co-workers and customers became his lifelong friends. Ever the avid golfer, hunter, car racing and baseball enthusiast, his most treasured past time was that of spending time with his grandchildren. A camera was always in his hands, capturing every precious moment. Ice cream, jelly beans and rides on the 4-wheeler every weekend. Rick loved this great Country and served in the Navy from 1970-1975. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He had an iron inner strength. He fought cancer and beat it 3 times over the last 11 years. He is survived by his wife Peggy Henson, sons Jon and Jeff Henson, their respective wives Kim and Beth. A step-son Matt Smith and wife Cindy. Grandchildren Amanda Zilles, Faith Henson, Sophia Henson,Logan Henson, Megan Henson, Lily Henson and Tuck Henson. Sister Linda Willett. He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley Rice Henson, Dorothea Virginia Henson, and a sister Judy Arndt.
