Rosanne Marie Whitney

May 25, 1943 - September 10, 2016

Rosanne Whitney passed away September 10, 2016. Her journey began May 25, 1943 with her birth in Oregon. Rosanne's colorful life began in Pierce and Orofino, Idaho where she grew up, graduated high school and married her first husband. Rosanne later moved to Spokane where she remarried. She worked many careers, which were highlighted by work as a bartender and as a field manager for Mielke Orchards on Upriver Drive. Finally, she found her place at Gonzaga University, which she loved. For over 20 years Rosanne worked as a custodian. Rosanne was greatly loved by friends and family and was always great for advice and a good story. She loved Christmas and everyone she knew received a present. Rosanne also loved couponing, garage sales, gardening, her animals and spending time with family just hanging out on the deck. Rosanne was married to her second husband David Whitney for over forty years. David preceded her in passing. She is survived by her four children: Daniel Barnes, Deanna Dandliker, Katrina Schelin, Patrick Whitney and step children. Her services will be held in Spokane Valley at Good Samaritan Community Center, 17121 E. 8th Ave., with Chaplin Manny Denning officiating, on October 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
