Pearl Helen Hansen

July 07, 1937 - October 11, 2022

Pearl Hansen passed away on October 11, 2022 in Spokane Valley, WA. She was born to Paul and Agnes Niles in Spokane, WA on July 7, 1937. As a girl, Pearl spent many early mornings delivering Spokesman Review newspapers with her father. She played basketball, and was involved in Camp Fire. She was also involved with Rainbow Girls. Pearl graduated from West Valley High School in 1953. In 1956 she married Gerald Hansen in Spokane Valley, WA, where they spent their entire lives. She enjoyed family camp trips, boating, waterskiing, attending all functions for the kids. They were season ticket holders of the Spokane Indians and attended several Mariners games. They would visit her sister in Bremerton and other family members in California. But she loved to travel with her daughter – Memphis, Nashville, Boston, Hawaii, Pennsylvania. She loved to sing, was an outstanding cook, great mother, and took care of the homelife. Pearl started work at Ravewear, sold Avon and Tupperware, was a bookkeeper, housekeeper and ended her working career as a nutritionist/cook for a facility within Spokane Metal Health. She loved arts and crafts, gardening, flowers, water aerobics, funny jokes, singing, and going out to eat. Pearl was a life-time member of Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, and participated in Ruby Rascals Red Hatters Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; sister Noreen Cook; husband Gerald Hansen; granddaughter Michelle Hansen; and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by son Darryl (wife Patty); daughter Teri; two grandchildren Josh Hansen (wife Christin) and Melanie Ledoux (husband Adam); four great-grandchildren Evelynn, Everett Ledoux, and Alex and Clara Hansen; sister Brenda Willenborg (husband David); three nieces, a nephew, and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM Spokane Valley United Methodist Church, 115 N. Raymond Road, followed by luncheon. A small graveside service for both Jerry and Pearl is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM, Pines Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be sent to Spokane Valley United Methodist Church.
