Nancy Lou Sweitzer

April 04, 1940 - October 19, 2012

Passed away peacefully October 19, 2012, in Spokane Valley, Washington, with her children by her side, after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Spokane on April 4, 1940 to Robert and Elsie Schneider. She attended Moran Prairie Elementary School and graduated from Freeman High School in 1957. In 1961 she married Alfred â??Fredâ? Sweitzer. Nancy worked for Jacklin Seed from 1975-2010. She loved to bowl, play games, collect coins, fish and visit the casino. Most of all she loved to be with friends and family. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred; her sister, Sally Hodl; brother Bob Schneider; granddaughter Lindsay Mershon. She is survived by her children, Laurie Johnson of Fresno, CA, Gail (Doug) Greenwald of Lake Stevens, WA, Mike Sweitzer of Spokane Valley, and Bill (Cyndy) Sweitzer of Liberty Lake, WA; grandchildren Nicole, Stephanie, Michael, Ken, Courtney, Taylor, and Madison; great grandson, Andrew; numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends. A celebration of Nancyâ??s life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012, 11:00 AM, Opportunity Christian Fellowship, 1313 S. Pines, Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Spokane or American Cancer Society.
