Obituary for Michael John Perry
Michael John Perry, of Spokane Valley, Washington, died unexpectedly on December 21, 2021. At the age of 60.

Mike was born February 24, 1961, in Palo Alto, CA, the youngest of six children of David and Carlotta Perry. The family moved to Spokane in 1961 where Mike spent his life. He attended Hutton Elementary, Sacajawea Middle School, and Lewis & Clark High School.

Known as “Big Mike” to many, he was a large, imposing man but was really a gentle giant. He loved animals of all kinds and children. He gave loyal support to his friends and led a quiet life. His passion was fixing cars and working on them with his friends. He was most comfortable in the wilderness and felt at peace while hiking, canoeing, and exploring the great Northwest. Mike was a proud Marine who was disabled while in the service. He was a faithful member of Northview Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mead, WA, and enjoyed his bible studies group.

Mike is survived by his brother David, sisters Susan Korbut (Seattle), Ann Hickey (Ireland), and Shawn Peterson (Seattle), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins throughout the Northwest. He was preceded in death by his parents, David, and Carlotta Perry, by his brother Stephen Perry and his brother-in-law Don Korbut. He will be interred at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Spokane Animal Shelter, Catholic Charities and/or favorite church outreach programs, and Habitat for Humanity.
