Lynne was born to Ben and Norma Wright on December 12th, 1969, and grew up with brother Tim Wright and identical twin Laurie Wright-Kesgard. She Graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School in 1988 and Seattle Central Community Colleges Interpreter Training Program in 1991. Lynne married Sean Lumsden in 1992 and settled in Federal Way.
Lynnes career started at Seattle Central Community College right after graduation and quickly distinguished herself as a world-class interpreter. Zachary was born in 1997 just before they moved to Spokane. While in Spokane, Lynne gave birth to Alex in 1999 and started interpreting again in 2001.
Lynne started accumulating interpreting credentials like the CI/ CT, Special Certificate: Legal, and Qualified Mental Health Interpreter: Supervisor. Lynne was one of only two interpreters in the country with that level of certification.
An in-demand presenter both locally and nationally, Lynne was recognized as WSRID member of the year in 2017. She also was invited to be the American Sign Language representative for the Supreme Court Interpreter Commission.
For hobbies, Lynne ran marathons, read voraciously, collected art, blogged and wrote Haikus. Her sign-off PREVAIL was attached to every email, phone call or conversation. Additionally, she was well known around Spokane as the First Lady at Living Hope Foursquare Church.
While her accolades could go on for pages, her laugh could make birds jealous and her smile could light up a medium-sized citythe accomplishment she was most proud of were the men of integrity she raised in Zach and Alex.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mirabeau Chapel, 3001 N Pines Rd, Spokane, WA 99206 on Saturday January 20th at 2 PM.
