Lloyd L Hurd

April 10, 1939 - March 13, 2018

Lloyd (Age 77) passed away at his home, that he shared with Dorothy Phillips, in Otis Orchards, WA on March 13, 2018. He was born April 10, 1939, to Rufus and Fran Hurd in Prosser, WA, where he grew up and completed high school. He is survived by his son Shane Hurd, granddaughter Whitney Meyer and her 2 daughters, in the state of Arizona, as well as his younger sister Joann Rector who lives in California. Lloyd is also survived by his godson Jeff Long of Spokane, and goddaughter Tammy Lynn McDaniel also of Spokane. He is preceded in death by his youngest son Bret Hurd. Lloyd owned and ran his own trucking company in Spokane for many years. After selling his company he went to work for Inland Gear in 1992. He retired from Inland Gear in December 2017. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local #690. He enjoyed working as a big rig mechanic for over 50 years. He was a member of the ATV Association of Washington. Lloyd and Dorothy loved to travel and you would see them loading up the motor home to take some cross-country trips or take their 4-wheeler off road for a day trip on local back roads. Lloyd’s inurnment ceremony will take place on Tuesday, April 10 at 12:30 pm, at Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way in Spokane.
