A lifelong fire fighter, helping people was John's true passion. His dedication to helping people he never knew was unsurpassed. He started as a volunteer at the Millwood Fire Department, and later, became the Fire Chief of Airways Heights’ Fire Department. He touched a number of lives too vast to count. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in History. He is survived by five children, four daughters and one son.
His memorial service will be held at 10 S Presley, Cheney Washington on Sunday, November 8th at 1:00 PM. It is casual and a potluck as well.

"Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will."
-Frederick Douglass
"It's really a wonder that I haven't dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart."
-Anne Frank
